Start your Metallic Button by making a new image. You will want to have a high width and a low height. Begin a new layer in this image and use it for the Metallic Button. Click on the Rectangle tool and choose the Fill option and use the Pixels at the top of Photoshop to fill up the object. Next, you need to click on the Blending options and choose Gradient Overlay. Make sure you right click over the new layer before you complete the previous step. Once you are inside of the Gradient Overlay option, move the Opacity level down to about 40% and check the Reverse box. After that go to the Blending Option and choose Bevel and Emboss.
